#BirdsAbroad Frannie Corrigan's Travel Log: Tuesday, Aug. 13

The Illinois State women's basketball program is on an 11-day foreign trip (Aug. 6-16) exploring Italy. Follow the Redbirds on social media (#BirdsAbroad) and with a daily travel log on goredbrids.com. Today's blog entry post is brought to you by Advocate BroMenn Medical Center.

Tuesday, August 13
8 a.m. – To start off the day, we had breakfast at the hotel and then loaded the bus to Tronchetto.

9:30 a.m. – When we arrived there, we hopped on a private boat to get St. Mark's Square in Venice.

11 a.m. – The first stop after we got off the boat was the glass blowing factory, where we got to see a few demonstrations and shop around. The glass was absolutely beautiful!

12:30 p.m. – Right before lunch, we enjoyed our walking tour and we got to see St. Mark's Basillica. After lunch, we of course found some gelato near St. Mark's Square and enjoyed a very peaceful gondola ride!

5 p.m. – To wrap up the day, we enjoyed a delicious team dinner with plenty of pasta and pizza!

7 p.m. – We got back on the boat to Tronchetto for the night … up next, Lake Como!
