ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference has announced the league's women's basketball schedule, with Illinois State set to open the 2019-20 conference slate on January 3 at the newly renovated Redbird Arena.
The Redbirds will open MVC play with a pair home contests against Indiana State (Jan. 3) and Evansville (Jan. 5), before hitting the road for three-straight games at Bradley (Jan. 10), Valparaiso (Jan. 17) and Loyola (Jan. 19). Two more home games will follow against Drake (Jan. 24) and UNI (Jan. 26), before a road contest at Southern Illinois (Jan. 31) ends the first month's action.
A road tilt at Missouri State (Feb. 2) begins the second month of MVC play, but will be followed by three consecutive home games against Bradley (Feb. 7), a Valentine's Day matchup against Loyola (Feb. 14) and Valparaiso (Feb. 16). An Iowa road swing follows at UNI (Feb. 20) and Drake (Feb. 22), before the team returns home to host Missouri State (Feb. 27) to round out the month of February.
The final stretch of the season begins at Redbird Arena on March 1, when Southern Illinois visits Normal. The Redbirds will then wrap up the regular season on the road at Evansville (March 5) and Indiana State (March 7), before heading to the Quad Cities for Hoops in the Heartland and the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament from March 12-15.Â
