Illinois State’s Series with Valparaiso Postponed, Redbirds Instead Travel to UNI

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference has postponed this weekend's conference-opening series versus Valparaiso (Jan. 1-2) at Redbird Arena due to positive COVID-19 test results among Valparaiso's Tier I personnel, which consists of student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff.

The conference will announce make-up dates for the series/games at a later date.

The Redbirds now face UNI this weekend (Jan. 1-2) to open their conference slate at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Both games will have a 2 p.m. tip-off. UNI was originally scheduled to play Missouri State this weekend, but positive test results within MSU's Tier I personnel forced the postponement of the UNI-MSU series. The 'Birds and the Panthers were originally scheduled to face one another on Jan. 15-16 in Cedar Falls.

MVC athletically related activities will take place only to the extent permitted by local environments and applicable national, state, local and institutional guidelines in order to safeguard the health and safety of participants, staff and fans.
