Hickey, Cranston Post Personal-Best Performances at Alex Wilson Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Rachel Hickey and Ariana Cranston recorded personal-best performances in their respective events at Saturday's Alex Wilson Invitational inside the Loftus Sports Center to lead the Redbirds.

Hickey, who ran a two-second improvement, clocked in at 4:50.64, finishing fourth overall in the mile. Her time moves her up one spot into ninth overall on the Illinois State track & field top-10 list.

In the field events, Cranston cleared her best mark of the 2019-20 indoor campaign at 4.02 meters (13-02.25 ft.) to finish third overall in the pole vault. Her clearance of 4.02 meters ranks her second overall in Illinois State history, moving her up one spot from third to second on the ISU indoor top-10 list.

On the men's side, Kimathi Johnson finished 11th overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.91 and Eddie Winner and Kellen Kravik both cleared 5.00 meters in the men's pole vault to finish second and fourth overall, respectively.

UP NEXT

The Redbirds compete at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships on Saturday, Feb. 29 and Sunday, March 1 and look to sweep the MVC Championships for the third-straight year.
