Colorado Springs, Colo. – On a Saturday afternoon in the mountains, the Illinois State gymnastics team scored a season-high team total 193.650 to take second in a tri-meet with Air Force Academy and Seattle Pacific on February 8 at 2 p.m. in Cadet West Gym.

- Illinois State: 193.650
- Air Force Academy: 193.425
Thoughts from Coach Bob Conkling:
"It was a very close and exciting meet that came down to the last routine. We know we can do better and need to put together a four-event meet. We gave away point, but overall it was a fun meet."
Team Notes:
- The Redbirds fell behind during the first rotation on beam, with only two gymnasts scoring over 9.700.
- After the second rotation, the Redbirds narrowed the lead between SPU with four gymnasts scoring over 9.700.
- ISU battled during the third rotation to settle into second place (144.900) while SPU took the lead (145.450) and Air Force (144.550) was third.
- During the final rotation the Redbirds had four gymnasts scoring over 9.700 to take second in the tri-meet and score a season-high team total 193.650.
Gymnast Notes:
- The reigning MIC Gymnast of the Week Angelica Labat recorded a career-high score of 39.100 in the all-around to finish second overall … she tied for second on vault scoring a 9.800 which tied her career-best and she also tied her career-best on floor scoring a 9.850 to tie for second on the event.
- Triniti Barron scored a career-high 9.800 on beam to tie for third.
- Gabrielle Cooke posted a season-high 9.800 on vault to tie for second on the event.
- Sofia Iribarren received a 9.875 to tie her career-best on bars and finished second on the event … she also scored a career-high 9.675 on vault.
- Anna Marema scored a season-high 9.775 on bars to finish fourth overall.
