ST. LOUIS – All 15 women's basketball student-athletes on the 2019-20 roster made the Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. To qualify for the Valley Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have recorded a minimum 3.2 grade point average (GPA) for a specified term, must have been a member of an athletics team and must have been enrolled full time during the term they earned the honor.
Additionally, five 'Birds earned the Commissioner's Excellence Award, given to those who hold a minimum 3.5 GPA for each of the previous two semesters, a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA and participation in athletics for a minimum of two years. Those student-athletes include Mary Crompton, Ally Gietzel, Paige Saylor, Megan Talbot and Lexi Wallen.
Talbot rounded out the awards for the Redbirds by receiving the Valley's highest academic achievement, the MVC Presidents' Council Academic Excellence Award. This award requires a minimum 3.8 cumulative GPA, participation in athletics for a minimum of two years and the student athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation
