NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head coach Brock Spack announced a restructuring within his coaching staff on Wednesday. Kurt Beathard is no longer with the football program. As a result of the restructuring, Ghaali Muhammad-Lankford and C.J. Irvin will share offensive coordinator duties for the program moving forward.
"I'm excited for Ghaali and C.J. to take over co-offensive coordinator duties," Spack stated. "They've been great additions to our staff over the past several years and I have no doubts they will do a great job in their new role working together. We would also like to thank Kurt for his efforts and wish him the best moving forward."
Muhammad-Lankford was recently promoted to associate head coach on offense and will continue to work with the Redbird wide receivers in his new role. Irvin will continue to serve in his role as tight ends and fullbacks coach in addition to his new co-offensive coordinator duties, but will hand over his special teams coordinator duties to defensive associate head coach Mike Banks and defensive assistant head coach Kye Stewart.
Also new to the staff is quarterback coach Andy Belluomini, who comes to the program from Northwestern. He has already joined the staff and begun his work with the Redbird signal callers.
"I have a longstanding relationship with Coach Fitzgerald and other members of the Northwestern coaching staff, and Andy was highly recommended by them all during the search process," Spack said. "Andy has joined our staff and hit the ground running and we look forward to him having a positive influence on our quarterback room."
