Normal, Ill. -- The Illinois State women's soccer team is heading up to Milwaukee, Wis. Sunday, to face the Marquette Golden Eagles on their home turf, Valley Fields, at 4 p.m. This will be the 'Birds first meeting against the Golden Eagles since the two teams tied 0-0 at Marquette in 2017. ISU looks to even up the overall series with Marquette, as they currently hold a 2-1-1 series lead.
The Redbirds will look to start the 2021 campaign strong and build off a hard fought exhibition game against DePaul, which saw the two teams finish in a 1-1 draw. Redshirt senior Abby Basler scored the second half goal that evened up the 'Birds with the Blue Demons. Basler logged a full 90 minutes of play in the game and fired a team high three shots on goal.
