MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Illinois State women's basketball team will compete in the WNIT Memphis Region Consolation Final on Monday afternoon, as the 'Birds face the Ohio Valley Conference regular season champions UT Martin in Memphis, Tenn. Tip-off is at 4 p.m. CT with the games streaming on FloHoops.

THE WNIT SO FAR
After falling to Tulane in the opening round on Friday, Illinois State battled back to beat Samford on Saturday, 68-62 in the consolation semifinals.
Senior Juliunn Redmond paced ISU with 17 points in the win, going 6-of-11 (54.5%) from the floor and adding five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a career-high three blocks.
Joining Redmond in double figures was Terrion Moore (14), Maya Wong (12) and Mary Crompton (10).
The victory was ISU's first postseason victory since 2013, as well as the first of head coach Kristen Gillespie's tenure. The Redbirds improved to 21-19 all-time in WNIT games.
UT MARTIN – SERIES HISTORY
The Skyhawks lead the all-time series with the 'Birds, 3-2, with ISU winning their most recent match up, 70-47, last season at Redbird Arena.
SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
UT Martin recently won the program's seventh OVC championship with a 17-2 mark league play. This WNIT berth is the Skyhawks' sixth appearance in the tournament and the 10th in postseason overall.
The Skyhawks dropped their opening round game to Nebraska, 72-66, before rallying for the win over Louisiana on Saturday, 58-48.
UT Martin is led by the senior duo of Chelsey Perry and Maddie Waldrop. Perry, a two-time OVC Player of the Year, is averaging 23.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Perry went off for 37 points in UT Martin's last game with Louisiana and is averaging 28.5 points and 8.5 rebounds through the Skyhawks' two WNIT games so far. Waldrop has averaged 9.8 points, 6.3 boards and 2.3 assists during the 2020-21 campaign.
