NORMAL, Ill. – The rain wouldn't stay away as the Illinois State baseball team completed just three and a half innings against Arkansas State, tied 2-2, on Saturday at Duffy Bass Field. The action will resume in the bottom of the 4th inning at 12:00 CT with the postponed game before the final game of the series is played, roughly 30 minutes after the end of the game. 
Fourth-year junior Kyle Soberano and first-year freshman Luke Cheng each recorded RBIs while third-year sophomore Hayden Jones and fourth-year junior Nick Gile scored runs for Illinois State (6-13 overall).
Jaylon Deshazier homered for Arkansas State (4-13 overall). 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
Arkansas State scratched across a run in the first inning. 
Soberano laid a bunt down the first base line to score Jones and Cheng flied a ball to center field to score Gile.
Third-year sophomore Hayden Jones lined a single to right field to plate fourth-year junior Tyson Hays prior to third-year sophomore Gunner Peterson's infield single that scored Libman. 
The 'Birds led 4-1 after three innings. 
An Arkansas State home run in the 4th inning tied the game at 2-2. 
The rain picked up and the game was called an hour and five minutes after the initial delay at 4:50 p.m. 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
	- Illinois State had previously scored in the 1st inning in its previous five games but did not do so in Friday's 1st inning. 
 
	- Second-year freshman Jordan Lussier struck out five in four innings of work.
