Normal, Ill.-- The Illinois State women's soccer team is set to face off against the Missouri State Bears at home on Friday, March 5 at 4 p.m. The match will be the Redbird's first official match at Adelaide Street Field since October 20, 2019.
Illinois State has always been a strong team when playing at Adelaide, the team holds an impressive all-time home record of 132-46-19 (.718), and last season the Redbirds went 4-2 at home.
Currently Illinois State holds the series lead over the Bears at 20-8-9. The last match saw the Redbirds defeat the Bears in the MVC semifinals 4-3 in overtime. Last year during the regular season the Redbirds defeated the Bears 1-0 on the road.
Illinois State is coming off a strong start to their 2021 MVC campaign, defeating Evansville 1-0, only allowing the Aces two total shots in the match. Senior Ashley Santos had the lone goal for the 'Birds, her third of the season.

Missouri State-What You Need to Know
Currently the Bears post a record of 1-3-2. The team participated in four games in the fall, losing two to Central Arkansas, and grabbing a win and a tie from Missouri Southern. The Bears kicked off their spring season against Arkansas, losing 7-0. Missouri State's most recent game came against Loyola, the match saw the two teams tie 0-0 in double overtime.
The Bears went 11-5-2 overall last season, and 4-2-1 in MVC play, making it to the MVC semifinals before being defeated by the Redbirds. The Bear's team has many new faces on the roster, with nine new freshmen joining the team.
In accordance with state and local guidelines, fans are currently not allowed to attend home ISU Athletics events.
