NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State soccer program is set to host a trio of clinics this summer at Adelaide Street Field, as announced by head coach Brad Silvey on Wednesday afternoon. Details on summer camps can be found below and those interested can visit the Redbird Soccer Camps site for registration and more information.
JUNE ID CLINIC
WHEN: Saturday, June 12 – Sunday, June 13
WHO: 7th-12th grade & college transfers
COST: $125
The June ID Clinic is built specifically for the female soccer player and prospective student-athlete that is strongly considering playing soccer at the collegiate level. Participants will be exposed to a challenging training environment, like that of a DI women's soccer program. This clinic will challenge your skills, knowledge, and physicality within the game of soccer. Campers will be taken through multiple training sessions, participate in small-sided scrimmages and 11v11 drills. They will receive instruction from the Illinois State coaching staff and have the opportunity to tour campus and interact with current members of the Redbird soccer team.
This is a two-day clinic; however, no residential option will be available. Campers do have the option of only attending one day, but the full cost of the camp must be paid. T-shirts will be provided to each attendee with registration ending on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
REDBIRD YOUTH CAMPS
WHEN: Monday, July 12 – Wednesday, July 14
WHO: boys/girls, ages 4-12
COST: $175 Full-Day, $75 Half-Day (only available to boys/girls, ages 4-5)
The Redbird Youth Camp will serve as an opportunity for youth soccer players to enjoy being around the game of soccer. The environment will be fun, educational, and uplifting. We will emphasize our program's core values within the camp – honesty, effort, attitude, accountability, respect, and trust. Campers will lear and improve their fundamental soccer skills, ball mastery, and knowledge of the game. The camp is designed for boys and girls of all skill levels from ages 4-12 years old (no age exceptions). Campers will be divided into smaller groups and receive age appropriate instruction from Illinois State soccer staff and current student-athletes.
Activities and exercises will cover topics including passing, receiving, first touch, 1v1 attacking and defending, juggling, dribbling, cutting, turning moves, feints, and small-sided scrimmages. A certified athletic trainer will be on-site for the entirety of the camp.
This is a three-day camp and a non-residential camp. Campers do have the option of only attending one or two days, but the full cost of the camp must be paid.
