NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows, featuring Illinois State head men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie will air tonight live from Joe's Station House Pizza Pub in Normal. Fans unable to attend the show can listen live on WJBC 1230-AM or on GoRedbirds.com, as Muller and Gillespie recap the season so far and preview upcoming match-ups.
The Kristen Gillespie Show, hosted by Greg Halbleib, starts tonight at 6 p.m. Halbleib will be joined by head coach Kristen Gillespie and junior Hannah Kelle. Kelle made her season debut this weekend for the Redbirds, appearing in both games for ISU and recording five points, four rebounds and two assists in Friday's victory at Indiana State. The Lincoln, Neb. native had not played since her freshman year (Feb. 2020) due to injury. The women's basketball team (7-7, 3-0 MVC) looks to improve on its four-game winning streak this week, hosting Valparaiso on Thursday and Loyola Chicago on Saturday. Tip-off for both games is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller will be joined by junior forward Kendall Lewis. Lewis has started every game in his first season with the Redbirds, averaging 9.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest. The men's basketball team (8-7, 1-1 MVC) are scheduled to resume their season at Drake on Wednesday before returning home to host I-74 rival Bradley on Sunday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. CT.
Fans are invited to watch Monday's shows live at the Joe's Station House Pizza Pub, located at the Shoppes at College Hills at 305 Veterans Pkwy in Normal. However, for those unable to attend the show in person, it will be broadcast live on WJBC 1230-AM and on GoRedbirds.com.
