NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Track & Field will be represented by seven student-athletes at the NCAA West Preliminary Round as announced by the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Committee on Thursday.
In order to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary Round, student-athletes must rank among the top-48 in their respective events. The seven Redbirds advancing will compete for a chance to move on to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Arkansas will host the NCAA West Prelims from Wednesday, May 25 through Saturday, May 28 at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The men will compete on Wednesday and Friday, while the women will compete on Thursday and Saturday.
Athletes with the top 12 times/marks at both the East and West Preliminary Rounds sites will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
