NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State senior Logan Calvin has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday. The Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the competition realm and in the classroom.
Calvin is a two-time MVC Scholar Athlete of the Year and has been named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team in 2021 and 2019. He is an Exercise Science major at Illinois State and has maintained a 3.76 grade point average across his four years.
Calvin has punched his ticket to the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships, as he finished eighth in the men's shot put at the West Prelims with a throw of 19.63m (64-5). Calvin will make his first appearance at an NCAA Championship meet, as he became the first Redbird since 2014 to qualify in the men's shot put.
The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
