ST. LOUIS – For the first time this season, Illinois State standout Tijana Zlatanovic has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Singles Player of the Week by the league office.
Zlatanovic was pivotal in Illinois State's lone matchup last week, a 7-0 sweep over in-state foe Western Illinois. The junior would clinch the fifth match point, as well as her fifth win of the spring, with a 6-3, 6-2 result over Paige Grice of Western Illinois.
ISU is in action this week as they face off with South Carolina State and College of Charleston as part of ISU's Spring Break travels. The Redbirds and Bulldogs square off from the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Meanwhile, for ISU and College of Charleston, first serve is at 12:30 p.m. from the CofC Tennis Center at Patriots Point Thursday.
