NORMAL, Ill – Illinois State (0-2-0) opened its 2023 season with losses to Indiana (3-0-1) and Butler (1-3), but look for redemption in the upcoming home tilt against North Dakota (1-2-1) and Oakland (1-2-1).

North Dakota and Illinois State have only faced each other once before, with the Redbirds taking the lone 2-0 victory back in 2016. The victory was a part of the 2016 season where the Redbirds won both the MVC Regular Season as well as the MVC Tournament.
Illinois State and Oakland have faced each other a total of five times, with the Redbirds winning three, tying one, and the Bears only claiming victory in the first game of the series. The last time the teams faced off was in 2007 ending in a 2-2 draw.
