NORMAL, Ill. – The Redbirds fell 3-0 to the Hawks in their home opener on Adelaide Street Field. Despite creating dangerous chances in the box and outshooting North Dakota, Illinois State was shutout in its second-straight game.
The Redbirds played a strong defensive first frame, with the only goal coming in the 35th minute, just ten minutes out from the half. The Redbirds outshot the Hawks, with ten, and six on goal. The Hawks had nine shots, also with six on goal.
The Hawks continued to pile on the offensive, netting two in the second half. Hayley Glover came within just inches of scoring, but the finish came up just short. Jade Rehberger also had two offensive attempts, both on goal. Rehberger was one of seven different Redbirds with shot attempts.
