NORMAL, ILL. - Â Haley Glover scored four goals in the Illinois State victory over Western Illinois, to cap off a two win week for the Redbirds. The hat trick, which eventually added another goal, is a career record for Glover. The last time four goals were scored by a single player in ISU history, was Rachel Tejada in 2014, but Glover was the fastest to ever to do it.
Glover's first goal was in the bottom left of the goal, coming in the sixth minute, on the assist from Katie O'Malley. The Redbirds did not give the Leathernecks a chance to breathe when Glover netted another goal in the 11th minute with an assist from Ava Watson. Glover earned the hat trick in the 26th minute with an assist from Julia Liguore, making the first three assists all feeds from freshmen.
Glover's fourth and final goal of the match was in the second period, to match the lone goal scored by Western Illinois coming earlier in the period. The double assist came on a pass from Leah Crotty which found Hillary Griffin who sent the feed into Glover.
In goal, Audrey Brown made two saves of the three shots on goal from the Leathernecks, one goal away from posting her second shut out of the week. The Redbirds earn their first two-victory week with standout performances from various players.
