NORMAL, ILL. – Illinois State Swim and Dive opened its two-day meet with UNI in strong fashion Friday, winning six of ten events to open the meet. The Redbirds lead 97-89 heading into Day Two of the meet.

The Redbirds opened the meet with a 1-2 sweep of 3M as Eva Reyes took first with a mark of 264.15 while Gaby Russell's score of 262.88 was good for second place.

Illinois State split Friday's relay races, taking first in the 400y Medley Relay. Chloe Tyler, Madyson Morse, Mia Snow and Ella Turken turned in a mark of 3:51.30 for the win.

Diana Walker opened her final home meet as a Redbird with a 200y Freestyle win and time 1:54.06. She was one of three Redbirds to win events in the pool.

Madyson Morse also took a win to open her last meet at Horton Pool, going 1:05.80 in the 100y Breaststroke.

Sophomore Giulia Basco earned first in the 200y Butterfly with a mark of 2:06.50. Cassidy Carey made it a 1-2 sweep for Illinois State as her 2:11.39 took second.
The Redbirds honor their seniors and close the meet tomorrow with 1M Dive beginning at 9 AM.
