AMES, Iowa – A head-to-head duel between host Iowa State and Illinois State saw the Cyclones finish ahead of the Redbirds Friday night at Hilton Coliseum by a score of 196.650-194.825.

• Iowa State: 196.650

Team Notes:
• The Redbirds started things off on bars, posting a 48.425 to fall behind the Cyclones after the first rotation.
• ISU bounced back a bit on vault, scoring a 48.950 to trim the Iowa State lead halfway through the meet.
• Illinois State then went to the floor and posted its best event score of the night at 49.050, as the Cyclones completed their beam routines to end the third rotation.
• A final score of 48.400 on beam capped off things for the Redbirds, as they dropped to 5-2 in head-to-head matchups this season.
Gymnast Notes:
• Senior Angelica Labat won the all-around competition with a season-high score of 39.200, thanks to top 5 finishes on all four events.
• Labat finished in a four-way tie for second place on vault with a score of 9.825, with Mia Oh and Alana Laster right behind in a tie for sixth place with scores of 9.800.
• Labat was also the high finisher in bars for ISU, tying for fifth place with a score of 9.750 as freshman Reese Grolla placed seventh with a 9.700.
• The leader on the beam was also Labat, whose score of 9.800 placed her fourth overall.
• Laster was the high finisher on floor for the Redbirds with a score of 9.875, followed by Sara Wabi and Labat in tie for fifth with scores of 9.825.

The Redbirds return home on Wednesday, January 31, as they welcome in MIC foe Southeast Missouri State to CEFCU Arena. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m.
