WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.-- Illinois State Swim and Dive concluded the Purdue Invitational with a strong performance in West Lafayette, Indiana on Saturday. The Redbirds collected 32 season bests-times across multiple events, while setting two lifetime bests across competition, including the 200 back and 100-free
In the 200-back, ISU was led by Hailey Fris who recorded a lifetime best of 2:04.05. This was followed by a top-finish in the 100-free by Lauren Hervey who clocked a time of 53.11.
Finally, The Redbirds recorded 15 top-16 finishes on the final day of competition at Morgan J Burke Aquatic Center, with one being a performance in the 400y-relay. Seven student-athletes totaled personal bests in two or more events on the day. This included Chloe Tyler, Cassidy Carey, Hailey Fris, Shelby Gourley, Giulia Basco, Lauren Hervey and Emma Feltzer.
REDBIRD NOTABLE FINISHES- (top-16)

In the 1650 free, four Redbirds recorded top finishes. Illinois State was led by Lauren Wisdom who took seventh (17:15.13) This was followed by Hope Westphal who took 12th (17:35.12), Ella Glaspie and Maya Burkstrand rounded out the lineup taking 14th and 16th place.

In the 200 back, Chloe Tyler placed tenth with a time of 2:01.66, this was followed by Cassidy Carey (2:02.46) who took 13th, Delaney Boulden (2:04.57) and Amelia Murphy (2:05.76) who finalized the field in 15th and 16th.

In the 100 free, ISU had three top-finishes which was led by a ninth place finish from Emma Feltzer (50.32), Mia Snow (50.59) and Ella Turken (51.37) finished both 11th and 16th.

In the 200 fly, Giulia Basco led the Redbirds finishing 11th with a time of 2:06.13. This was followed by a 13th place time of 2:08.48 from Avery Watson.

Ella Turken, Sylvia Admire, Emma Feltzer and Mia Snow recorded a solid performance in the 400y-relay. Their mark of 3:24.39 was good for sixth.

In platform diving, Eva Reyes claimed 13th place with a score of 184.30. Selena Corona took 16th with a final score of 160.70.
UP NEXT-
The Redbirds will travel to Greensboro, N.C. to compete in the US Open on December 4-7. Illinois State will open up the new year at home for senior day when they host Quincy/SLU on Jan. 10 inside Horton Pool at 12 p.m.
