Feltzer Takes Gold to Cap off MVC Championships

EVANSVILLE, IN. – Junior Emma Feltzer earned her second career MVC gold medal Saturday in the final day of the 2024 MVC Swim and Dive championships as she took home the 100y Freestyle title at Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind.  Illinois State (897.5) finished in fourth place overall in the team standing, behind champion Missouri State (1463.5), Indiana State (1294.5) and Southern Illinois (1126.5).

HIGHLIGHTS: 

  • Feltzer earned her second gold medal in as many years, after taking home the 200y Freestyle title at the 2023 MVC Championships. She broke her own school record twice on Saturday, going 49.71 for first in the prelims and 49.33 for a win in the final. 

  • Madyson Morse and Eva Reyes earned First Team All-MVC Honors with bronze medals in Day 4, as Morse finished with a 2:15.34 in the 200 breast and Reyes turned in a score of 265.20 in 3M. 

  • Senior Cassidy Carey closed her Illinois State career with another All-MVC honor, finishing fourth for All-MVC Honorable mention honors in the 200y Backstroke. She went 2:00.52 in the prelims before turning in a mark of 2:00.44 in the finals.
