CHICAGO, IL.- The Redbirds track & field squads both finished third after day one of the Missouri Valley Championships. The Redbirds had four on the podium and 13 advanced to the finals.
On the men's side

Sophomore Charles Cruse earned All-MVC by taking third in the pole vault with a new-personal-best height of 5.05 (16-6.75) and now tied for seventh all-time.

Senior Brandon Ratliff won the 60m prelims with a new personal-best time of 7.84 seconds.

Sophomore Dewayne Johnson took second in the 60m hurdles with 8.05 seconds as he advanced to the finals.

Senior Jaden Johnson took fourth in the 60m hurdles with 8.09 seconds as he also advanced to the finals.

In the 200m dash, Enyinnaya Nwgawu took seventh with 21.69 seconds as he advanced to the finals.

Senior Raydoffa Braziel took first in the 400m with 47.62 seconds as he advanced to the finals.

Junior Caleb Emmanuel-Lerus took in the 400m with 49.00 seconds as he advanced to the finals.

In the 800m, freshman Sam Atkinson took eighth with a new personal-best time of 1:52.98 as he advanced to the finals.

In the mile, freshman Yusuf Baig took ninth with a new personal-best time of 4:12.30 as he advanced to the finals.

In the 5,000m, junior Mathis Chavand took fourth with a new personal-best time of 14:18.87.

For the DMR, the Redbird took third with a time of 10:05.55.

In the long jump, junior Darcis Bitangalo took eighth with a leap of 7.01m (23-00).

In the pole vault, senior Ariel Atias took fourth with a height of 4.85m (15-11.00).

In the weight throw, senior Amiri Buchanan finished fifth with a throw of 19.48m (63-11.00).

On the women's side

Junior Windsor Roberts wins the pole vault with a new personal-best and new school record of 4.09m (13-5.00) while also earning All-MVC..

In the long jump, sophomore Abby Milott earned All-MVC and took third with a leap of 5.76m (18-10.75).

In the 60m dash, sophomore Lindsey Miller took eighth with 7.61 seconds as he advanced to the finals.

In the 60m hurdles, junior Corrina Courser took fourth with a new personal-best time of 8.48 seconds as she advanced to the finals.

Senior Emelia Ness took sixth with a new personal-best time of 8.66 seconds as she advanced to the finals.

In the 200m dash, sophomore Nnnena Okpara took third with 24.20 seconds as he advanced to the finals.

In the mile run, sophomore Mattison Plummer won her heat with 4:54.15 as she advanced to the finals.

In the 5,000m run, senior Claire Fuhlhage took seventh with 17:20.80.

In the DMR, the Redbird took fourth with 11:58.67.

In the weight throw, senior Morgan Wrublik took sixth with a mark of 16.51m (54-2.00)
