MOLINE, Ill. – DeAnna Wilson, Kate Bullman and Shannon Dowell landed on the 2024 All-MVC teams, as announced by the league office at its annual awards banquet prior to Hoops in the Heartland. Wilson was tabbed for the All-MVC Second Team, while Bullman was an All-Defensive Team selection and Dowell earned All-MVC Freshman team honors.
Wilson earned All-MVC honors for the third straight season, after Second Team honors in 2023 and a first-team nod in 2022. She was also an All-MVC Newcomer team selection in 2021.
She averaged 15.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while posting four double-doubles in MVC play. Wilson reached double-figure scoring in 13 league games, including a mark of 26 in three different contests that tied her career high.
Bullman landed on the All-MVC Defensive team for the second straight season, after ranking second in the MVC with 2.25 blocks per game and an overall mark of 45 blocks in MVC play. She recorded 8 games in MVC play with 3-plus blocks, including 3-plus block performances in four of Illinois State's last five games.
She had a season-high 6 blocks in the win over Evansville on Feb. 25, which was tied for the second most by a Valley player in a single game this season.
Dowell is just the 12th player in program history to earn All-MVC Freshman team honors and the second in the Kristen Gillespie era to do so. (Paige Saylor, 2018). She averaged 10.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in MVC play. She tallied 11 double-figure scoring performances in MVC play, which included a three-game stretch with 20-plus points in as many games.
Dowell was the only true freshman in the Valley this season to record three-straight performances of 20-plus points.
