NORMAL, Ill. -Â The Illinois State track & field squads completes day one of the Redbird Challenge and day two of the Washington University Distance Carnival.
Redbird Challenge & Washington University Distance Carnival
Women's Hammer throw:
- Senior Morgan Wrublik finished 2nd with a throw of 51.39m (168-07).
- Â Freshman Adison Scott took 6th with a throw of 44.78m (146-11).
- Â Sophomore Olivia Birge finished 7th with a new personal-best throw of 43.42m (142-05).
- Â Sophomore Laney Lester finished 11th with a throw of 37.94m (124-05).
Men's Hammer Throw:
- Senior Amiri Buchanan won the hammer throw event with a toss of 59.69m (195-10).
- Senior Peyton Taylor took 2nd with a new personal-best throw of 53.45m (175-04).
- Senior Josh Schmid finished third with a new personal-best throw of 53.15m (174-04).
- Senior Joe Boyer took 5th with a throw of 48.18m (158-01).
- Freshman Cole Stevens finished 6th with a throw of 46.80m (153-06).
- Sophomore Anthony Smith took 7th with a throw of 45.64m (149-09).
- Freshman Garrett Taylor took 9th with a throw of 44.62m (146-04).
Men's 10,000:
Men's 5,000:
- Senior Baptsite Tardiveau finished 3rd with a new personal-best time of 14:04.13, which puts him in 6th all-time in the event, in program history
- Â Junior Zack Loomis finished 9th with a new personal-best time of 14:09.86, this puts him in 8th all-time for the event, in ISU historyÂ

Day two of the Redbird Challenge will begin competition at 10:00 AM with the women's disc throw followed by the men. Senior recognition will follow suit at 11:30 AM.Â
