Redbirds Add Transfer for 2024-25

NORMAL, Ill. – Two-time MVC Coach of the Year Breanne Hall has announced that Fresno State golfer Lory Paradis has signed paperwork to become the newest member of the Illinois State women's golf squad for the 2024-25 season. Paradis will come into Bloomington/Normal as a graduate transfer with one season of eligibility remaining.

"I am excited to welcome Lory to the Redbird family," said Hall. "She is an extremely hard worker who brings with her a wealth of collegiate tournament experience. This is a key addition for us as we are losing 5 seniors this year. Lory is a natural leader and will be a wonderful mentor to our incoming freshman. Her golf swing mechanics are very sound, and she shows maturity in her course management decisions. Lory is a driven individual who continuously pushes herself and those around her to strive for daily improvement."

Paradis did not compete for the Fresno State Bulldogs in 2023-24; however, in 2022-23 she played in seven tournaments with 21 total rounds with a scoring average of 78.33. Her top finish came at the Fresno State Classic where she tied for 38th with rounds of 75, 73 (a season-low), and 82 for a tournament score of 230. Her Trinity Forest Invitational total of 226 was the lowest for the Blainville, Quebec, Canada, native.

As a sophomore in 2021-22 she played in five tournaments – 15 total rounds – with an average score of 79.27, including a season-low tournament of 232 at The Gold Rush, where she also had her best finish of the season, tying for 26th in the field. During her freshman season in the spring-only 2021 season due to the pandemic, Paradis played in six tournaments with 18 total rounds. She averaged 77.5 strokes per round, including a season-low tournament of 227 in the opening tournament of her collegiate career at the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate.

Former Fresno State teammate of Paradis, Jinyoung Yun, was named the MVC Golfer of the Year in 2023-24, improving her stroke average from Fresno State by four over strokes per round under Hall.  The Redbirds are set to compete in the 2024 East Lansing Regional after winning the Missouri Valley Conference Championship by a dozen strokes over the field.
