TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – It was an exciting finish on Sunday at the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship, as several Illinois State Redbirds won individual titles and several others found themselves on the podium as the ISU men's team took second place and the women's squad finished third at the Gibson Track & Field Complex in Terre Haute.

Senior Jaden Johnson took third in the 110m hurdles with a season-best time of 14.21 seconds, and he also secured the third spot in the 400m hurdles in a personal-best time of 52.62 seconds.

The 4x100m relay squad took third with a season-best time of 40.22 seconds, after a strong performance by anchor Devin Turner. The 4x400m relay team also earned a podium spot as it finished runner-up in the event with a time of 3:10.15.

Miller also finished runner-up in the 400m dash in a personal-best time of 23.81 seconds. Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, Jeff Bovee  "Our men competed very hard and we hit on most of our scoring opportunities so we feel good about our execution. Indiana State men really displayed a great team performance this weekend. We had several top 3 All- Valley performers highlighted by Amiri Buchanon's top 20 NCAA mark to win the MVC shot put title. Our women just about eclipsed our pre-conference ranking with our 3rd place finish. It is an unfamiliar feeling for them to not be at the top after a four-year MvC winning streak. We will need to work extremely hard as a staff and a team to get back on top of this very good track and field conference! We had several stellar performances today with wins in the 100m -Lindsey, 4x100m relay, the Triple Jump-Madison among so many other top 3 All-Valley performances. I want to thank each of our seniors for a great career here as a Redbird! Collectively, they have brought home several MVC Championships and Runner-Up honors. We are so proud of them and they all have a bright future in the next chapter of their life. Lastly, job well done by the coaching staff and the support staff that help our student-athletes balance a long season which started back in August".
