MADISON, Wis. – The Illinois State track & field team wrapped up the regular season and picked up several wins in its final tune up before next week's MVC Championship meet, as the Redbirds competed on Friday at the Badger Challenge, hosted by Wisconsin.

On the men's side, senior Amiri Buchanan kicked off the Redbirds' day with a personal-best throw in the shot put with 19.12m (62-8.75). Three other Redbirds finished in the top-10, including senior Joe Boyer taking seventh with a toss of 17.17m (56-4), freshman Cole Stevens finishing eighth with a mark of 16.78m (55-.75) and freshman Garrett Taylor taking 10th with a toss of 16.40m (53-9.75). In the hammer throw, senior Josh Schmid finished seventh with a mark of 55.37m (181-8), while junior Anthoney Smith took ninth with a toss of 50.48m (165-7).
In the 110m hurdles, senior Brandon Ratliff crossed the finish line first in a time of 14.86 seconds, while freshman Jonathan Tegal finished second in a time of 15.09 seconds. Tegal also won the 400m hurdles in a time of 55.87 seconds. Junior Tyler Didde finished third in the 100m dash in a time of 10.95 seconds.
In the 400m dash, junior Edward Watkins finished second in a time of 48.80 seconds, as sophomore Garrett Slack finished third in the 800m run with a personal-best time of 1:50.85. In the 3,000m run, graduate student Nick Doud finished third in a time of 8.29.88, while freshman Dylan Meyers finished fourth in a time of 8.40.14. In the 200m dash, junior Caleb Emmanuel-Lerus finished third with a personal-best time of 21.70.
The men's 4x100m relay team finished second with a time of 40.28 seconds, which is fifth best in program history.
On the women's side, senior Morgan Wrublik finished fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.87m (166-10), while freshman Adi Scott took sixth with a toss of 48.71m (159-9). Junior Batya Butler finished fifth in the shot put with a toss of 14.54m (47-8.50). In the discus, senior Macy Byer took second with a toss of 52.46m (172-1). Sophomore Isabelle Hemmen won the pole vault with a personal-best height of 3.82m (12-6.25).
In the high jump, senior Carly Tucker finished third with a mark of 1.64m (5-4.50), while junior Ella Vaveck took fifth with a height of 1.64m (5-4.50). Senior Hassy Fashina-Bombata won the 100m hurdles in a time of 13.75 seconds. In the 100m dash, sophomore Lindsey Miller crossed the finish line in first with a time of 11.60 seconds, as senior Samone Winters took second in a time of 11.94 seconds.
Senior Sabrina Schlenker took fourth in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:08.63. In the 200m dash, freshman Chavi Flowers finished second in a time of 24.83 seconds, while senior Mattie Lieb came in third with a time of 24.85 seconds. Lauren Schulze finished second in the 5,000m run with a personal-best time of 17:32.26. The 4x100m relay squad took first with a time of 44.85 seconds.
