HOUSTON, Texas – Illinois State legend D.A. Weibring has added another Hall of Fame accolade to his impressive resume, as he has been announced as a member of the 2024 Texas Golf Hall of Fame class.
The honorees will be celebrated during the formal induction ceremony which will take place at the prestigious Houston Country Club on Monday, October 21, 2024. Each inductee will be commemorated with a granite marker on the Texas Golf Walk of Fame at the historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas and at The Ronny Golf Park in Frisco, Texas.
"D.A. Weibring is a fantastic representative of being RB4L and we are glad to have him as a Redbird," ISU Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Jeri Beggs said. "This honor of him joining the Texas Golf Hall of Fame is extremely well deserved and adds to his long list of accolades. We cannot say thank you enough to D.A. for all he has done for ISU Athletics and his continued involvement with Redbird Golf to this day."
Weibring, a native of Quincy, Illinois, and a resident of Texas for over 45 years, boasts an impressive resume of professional golf accomplishments and accolades. The Illinois State graduate has earned 13 Tour victories worldwide, including a major title at the 2008 Seniors Players Championship. In total, he had five top-10 finishes in major championships, twice at the PGA Championship and one in each of the others. For all his career achievements, Weibring has previously been inducted into the ISU Athletics Percy Family Hall of Fame in 1980, the Quincy Notre Dame High School Hall of Fame in 1991, the Illinois PGA Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Missouri Valley Conference Hall of Fame in 2015.

"Their dedication, talent, and contributions have left an indelible mark on the sport, and we are honored to recognize their accomplishments. We eagerly anticipate celebrating their remarkable careers at the induction ceremony."
As the Founder of Golf Resources (Weibring/Wolford Design), Weibring has been involved in designing, renovating and rescuing more than 100-plus courses worldwide since he founded it in 1987, including TPC Deere Run in the Quad Cities, which hosts the PGA's John Deere Classic, and TPC Las Colinas, a home to the AT&T Byron Nelson Golf Classic.
An active and loyal supporter of Illinois State, Weibring has helped raise more than $1.5 million for the Redbird men's and women's golf teams and in 2000-2001, his firm designed and directed the renovation of the University Golf Course. On September 7, 2007, the course was renamed the Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University in recognition of his commitment and contribution to Redbird Athletics and his achievements as a PGA member.
