NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State Track & Field program returns to action with its second meet of the season hosting the annual Coughlan-Malloy Cup. The action will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Horton Field House.
The first 50 fans to arrive will receive a free t-shirt provided by Illinois State Athletics. All fans who attend will receive a free set of pom poms while supplies last.
Illinois State returns to action following a month's break since their last meet, the John Coughlan Invite, which kicked off the 2024-25 campaign in early December. The Redbirds came out strong to begin the season as they picked up a combined 15 event wins. The women's squad collected seven event wins, while the men's team picked up eight.
Along with the 15 event wins, six Redbirds entered the program's top-10 lists in their respective events. Senior Windsor Roberts won the women's pole vault with a vault of 3.90m (12-9.5) which set the Horton Field House record.
Looking ahead to the action taking place on Friday, Illinois State looks to bounce back after falling short of lifting the traveling trophy last year against Indiana State. The Redbirds had their five-year win streak snapped to the Sycamores in last year's competition.
