Redbirds Head to Windy City For Challenge With UIC

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State will travel to UIC this Friday for a dual meet with the Flames at Flames Natatorium. Action from the Windy City will begin at 4:00 p.m.

The Redbirds hit the road for the second time this season after picking up three event wins at the Eastern Classic on Oct. 10-11. Graduate Mia Snow picked up two individual event wins across the weekend. Snow won the 100 Y Fly with a time of 53.70 and tallied a win in the 100 Y Free with a mark of 50.63. Snow was also a member of the 200 Medley relay team alongside Tyler, Fris, and Turken that won with a time of 1:43.27. The mark was a top-10 time in program history. Senior Chloe Tyler picked up another podium finish with a time of 56.48 in the 100 Y Back.

The Flames enter Friday's meet after falling to Southern Illinois 192-102 on Oct. 10. UIC is led by fourth-year head coach Ashley Dell. Before joining the Flames, Dell spent two years as an assistant coach at her alma mater, the University of Iowa, and Southern Methodist University.

Friday's meeting marks the fifth dual meet in the all-time series between the two programs and the first since 2023. Illinois State holds a 5-0 advantage in the series and won the recent meeting, 190-107.
