NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State swim and dive is set to travel to Oxford, Ohio, for the four-day Miami Invitational hosted by Miami (OH). Action from the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center will begin with the 800 Freestyle Relay as the sole event on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The meet will continue on each remaining day with a morning session set to begin at 9 a.m. and an evening session starting at 4:30 p.m.
The Redbirds return to action following a near-month break from competition after competing at the House of Paign Invite hosted by Illinois on Oct. 24-25.
Senior Mia Snow secured the Redbirds' lone event win in Urbana-Champaign on the first day of the meet with a win in the 100 Y Fly after recording a time of 54.57. Sophomore Hailey Fris added a podium finish on day one after earning a third-place finish with a time of 57.46 in the 100 Y Back.
On day two of the House of Paign Invite, Snow added another podium finish with a runner-up finish in the 100 Y Free with a mark of 50.88. Senior Giulia Basco tallied a third-place finish with a season-best mark of 2:05.83 in the 200 Y Fly. In the 200 Y Free relay, the Redbirds squad of Tyler, Kieffel, Turken, and Snow earned another Redbird podium finish with a time of 1:35.19 to finish third.
Illinois State's trip to Oxford, Ohio, marks the first occasion in program history that the Redbirds will travel to take on the RedHawks.
