NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State gymnastics team will hold its annual Red vs. White Intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday, December 7, beginning at 6 p.m. in Horton Field House.
This will be a first chance for fans to get to see the defending Midwest Independent Conference champions, before they begin their quest to repeat in 2026. The squad features five newcomers, including four freshman and one transfer. The team will be split into two squads for the meet, with each group vying for bragging rights over their teammates for the rest of the year.
The event is free to the public, but fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the gates that will be distributed to local food banks. Fans are also encouraged to get into the season spirit by wearing their best ugly holiday sweater to the meet. Following the competition, kids in attendance are encouraged to come down to the floor to pick up team schedule posters and get autographs from their favorite gymnasts.
Illinois State begins the 2026 gymnastics campaign on Saturday, January 10, in Iowa City, Iowa, at the Border Battle quad meet with the host Hawkeyes, Iowa State and Illinois.
