Robinson Wins Pair of Weekly MIC Gymnastics Honors

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State gymnastics senior Mya Robinson was stellar once again for the Redbirds, as she picked up an event win and ISU's top all-around performer in the tri-meet last Saturday at Illinois. For her efforts, Robinson was named the Midwest Independent Conference Co-Gymnast of the Week and took home MIC Performance of the Week honors on Wednesday.

This is the second Gymnast of the Week honor for Robinson this season, and her first Performance of the Week award this season. A season-high score on vault of 9.875 propelled her to an event win and the Performance of the Week nod, and that led to a solid all-around score of 38.600, as she finished third overall behind Illinois' Chloe Cho and Washington's Mary McDonough.

The Redbirds return home on Friday to host a quad meet at Horton Field House with MIC foe Centenary, Central Michigan and Bowling Green, with action set to begin at 7 p.m.
