Redbirds Earn Fifth-Straight Postseason Appearance with Bid to 2025 WNIT

Fort Collins, CO – Illinois State women's basketball was selected to play in the 27th edition of the Postseason WNIT, the WNIT office announced Sunday night. The full 48-team WNIT bracket is set to be revealed Monday with matchups, start times and locations.

Illinois State (21-12, 14-6 MVC) earned a third consecutive 20-win campaign under head coach Kristen Gillespie this season. It is the first time since the 2008-09 to 2010-11 campaigns that the program has earned three consecutive seasons of 20+ victories.

REDBIRDS IN THE WNIT

The Redbirds are set to make their 16th appearance all-time in the WNIT and their fourth trip to the WNIT in Gillespie's tenure. The Redbirds earned a WNIT bid for the third consecutive season. Illinois State is 16-10 overall in the WNIT since 2000, which includes a win over Charleston last season inside CEFCU Arena that booked a trip to the 2024 WNIT Super 16.
