NORMAL, Ill. – Due to scheduling conflicts at CEFCU Arena with Chi Omega March Madness, an annual dance competition involving the Greek community at Illinois State in support of the Make-A-Wish foundation, Illinois State women's basketball will host Abilene Christian Thursday in the WNIT Super 16 inside Shirk Center on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host the WNIT Super 16," Illinois State head coach Kristen Gillespie said, "We are incredibly thankful for our partnership with Illinois Wesleyan and allowing us to play at the Shirk Center due to a scheduling conflict at CEFCU Arena. We have a long-standing agreement to host the Chi Omega March Madness event in CEFCU Arena. Student life and activities are valued at ISU, and we fully support this event, which will go towards a great cause at the Make-A-Wish foundation. I hope to see you on Thursday as we attempt to sell out the Shirk and advance to the Great 8."
GAMEDAY INFORMATION
- Tickets are on sale now at goredbirds.com/tickets and are $12 for the general public and $7 for students and youth. All fan seating will be general admission. Ticket purchases via credit card will be accepted on site.
- Parking is located east of Shirk Center or across the street from Shirk Center.
- Fans can enter Shirk Center at the main entrance on Emerson Street or the east entrance off the east parking lot.
- Doors open at 5 p.m.
- Fans unable to attend the game can listen on WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, and on GoRedbirds.com., or stream the contest live on YouTube.
ABOUT THE WNIT
The 2024 field features a 48-team field that includes 11 automatic qualifiers and 37 at-large selections chosen after consideration of a mix of criteria by WNIT officials. There are 22 teams that won 20 or more games this season, which includes the 21-win Redbirds. All games are set to be hosted on campus sites. The 2025 WNIT Championship is Saturday, April 5 at 3 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
