Redbirds' Cruse And Roberts Compete In Pole Vault On Day One Of Michael Johnson Invitational

WACO, Texas – The Illinois State track & field team kicked off the Michael Johnson Invitational at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium Friday afternoon. 

Senior Windsor Roberts and Junior Charles Cruse were the only Redbirds competing on the day for Illinois State. Cruse finished seventh after clearing the bar at 5.07m (16-7.50). Later, Roberts scored a season-best clearance of 3.87m (12-8.25) to finish 11th. 

On Saturday, five Redbirds will compete for Illinois State in the following events (all times in CST): 

• Senior Madison Saunders and Sophomore Ava Lawless will battle out in the women's triple jump at 12:00 p.m. 

• Junior Rub Pulliam will jump in the men's high jump at 1:00 p.m. 

• Freshmen Astor Snaider and Victor Byaundaombe will compete in the men's triple jump at 2:30 p.m.

Action will resume from the Michael Johnson Invitational hosted by Baylor on Saturday, April 19, with festivities slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
