COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Illinois State track & field program closed out day two at the NCAA West First Round Thursday evening. Â
Illinois State had three athletes represent the Redbirds in College Station on Thursday afternoon.Â
Senior Corrina Courser advanced to the quarterfinals of the women's 100m hurdles after running a time of 13.17. Courser's time is a new Illinois State record, beating Hassy-Fashina-Bombata's record of 13.29 by .12 seconds. The quarterfinals will begin on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. CST.Â
Junior Erin Starks ran a time of 18.39 to close out an incredible first-year campaign as a Redbird. Starks recorded a top-10 time in the hurdles in both the indoor and outdoor seasons in her first year at Illinois State.Â
Sophomore Immaculate Daniel ran a time of 11.37 in the women's 100m dash. Daniel closes out her first season as a Redbird, in which she captured the school record for the indoor 60m dash and outdoor 100m dash.Â
On Friday, Freshman Victor Byaundaombe will jump in the men's triple jump at 2:30 p.m. CST. At 8:45 p.m., the men's 4x400m relay team will run to close out day three.Â
