NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State soccer will make its first road trip of the 2025 campaign, traveling to Indianapolis, Ind., for a contest with Butler on Thursday. Kick off from the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl is set for 4 p.m. CT and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
Illinois State enters Thursday's meeting with Butler after falling to Northwestern 1-0 Sunday evening at Adelaide Street Field. In Sunday's defeat, Redshirt Sophomore Madi Valenti recorded a career-best 10 saves, a single-most from a Redbird goalkeeper since 2023.
The Bulldogs look ahead to Thursday's matchup with the Redbirds after securing a 2-0 victory over Central Michigan in their season opener on August 14. Butler is led by co-head coaches Tari St. John and Rob Alman, who enter their 14th season leading the Bulldogs to a 144-73-39 overall record.Â
The series between the two programs is tied at 4-4 ahead of Thursday's game with the Bulldogs, evening the series with a 2-0 win in 2024 at Adelaide Street Field. The series is also tied at 2-2 in contests played in Indianapolis.
