MADISON, Wis. – The Madison Mallards of the Northwood League have announced they will host Illinois State and Milwaukee baseball in a fall scrimmage on Saturday, October 11, in Madison.
The meeting will mark the first NCAA Division I baseball contest in Madison in over 33 years. The last NCAA-sanctioned game in Madison took place on May 10, 1991, which was followed by the University of Wisconsin disbanding its baseball program.
Illinois State has had a couple of players play for the Mallards as newcomer Shuto Okumura spent two seasons with Madison alongside 2025 MLB draftee and Redbird alum, Shai Robinson.
Tickets will be $10 for fans to attend, and concessions will be available for purchase. The scrimmage will be a 12-inning contest, which will begin at 12:05 p.m. with gates opening at 11:30 a.m.
