Wolff Earns MIC Co-Performance of the Week Honors

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State sophomore gymnast Sammie Wolff posted the highest score of the night for the Redbirds in their 2026 season-opening meet at Iowa last Saturday. For her efforts, Wolff earned Midwest Independent Conference Co-Performance of the Week honors on Wednesday.

In the Border Battle Meet with Iowa, Iowa State and Illinois, Wolff stuck her vault and scored a career-best 9.825 to tie for second place overall meet, just behind Iowa's Aurelie Tran with a 9.850. Wolff was also solid on beam and floor for the Redbirds in the season opener, with Top 20 finishes on both events.

Wolff and the Redbirds return to action on Friday, January 16, when they head to Chicago to compete in the Windy City Invite at Navy Pier against Centenary, Southeast Missouri State, Fisk, and Wilberforce at 7 p.m. ISU will then return home to host its first meet of the season on Sunday, January 18, against Centenary inside Horton Field House.
