CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Illinois State started Sunday's quad meet at Southeast Missouri State with a pair of best efforts on vault and bars to post its highest score of the season at 194.025 against the host RedHawks, Ball State and Wisconsin Oshkosh.
Scoring Breakdown:
•   Ball State: 195.675
•   Wisconsin-Oshkosh: 194.525
•   Southeast Missouri State: 194.500
•   Illinois State: 194.025
Thoughts From Coach Ringer:
"I was so pleased with our first three rotations today. On bars, we had to overcome some equipment malfunctions that caused an extensive delay during our rotation, but I was so happy with how they kept their composure and handled that to finish the meet. I think we got a little tight in the end and just couldn't finish things out. There were so many good things today and so many solid individual routines that we can build on for next time."
Team Notes:
•   The Redbirds started the meet on the floor and posted their second-highest score on the event on the year with a 48.850.
•   Illinois State posted its highest vault score of the season, scoring 48.850 in rotation No. 2 to stay in the hunt midway through the meet.
•   ISU had to overcome equipment failures on bars, which forced a long delay for repairs to be made before the Birds could finish their routines. However, despite the delay, the Redbirds scored a season-best there as well with a 48.775 to continue the strong start to the meet.
•   The final rotation was not as kind to ISU, as the Redbirds scored 47.550 on beam to round out the competition.
Gymnast Notes:
•   Savannah Ray tied for third on vault with a score of 9.825, while Jaly Jones and Sammie Wolff also recorded Top 10 finishes with matching scores of 9.775.
•   On bars, Ray was once again the top finisher for the Redbirds as she tied for second overall with a career-best score of 9.850 for the second-straight week … Jada Beswick was solid as well, securing a Top 5 finish in a tie for fifth with a 9.775.
•   Audrey Hiatt was the top finisher on beam in a tie for 13th place with a 9.700, followed by Ray in 17th with a 9.550.
•   Jones was third for the Redbirds on floor with a season-best 9.850, while Leah Davis also posted a Top 5 finish in a tie for fifth with 9.800 … Courtney Woods and Mia LeBlanc placed in the Top 10 with matching scores of 9.750 to tie for 10th place.
