EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Illinois State swim and dive team closed out the Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships from the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind on Saturday evening.
After four days of action, the Redbirds earned a seventh-place finish with 697 points scored across the title meet.
Three Redbirds earned All-MVC Honors in their events; the full list of honorees is listed below:

On day four, the Redbirds saw 11 student-athletes qualify for the finals of their events.
PRELIMS
To open the final day of the conference title meet, five Redbirds qualified for the 200 Y Back final. Senior Chloe Tyler led the way with an eighth-place finish with a season-best mark of 2:01.58. Senior Delaney Boulden finished in ninth place with a mark of 2:01.69. Boulden's time improves on her top-10 time as she remains sixth fastest in school history.
Sophomore Amelia Murphy joined Boulden and Tyler in qualifying with a time of 2:02.70. Murphy's time moves her to ninth all-time in program history for the event. Junior Bailey Gott advanced following a season-best mark of 2:03.50, as Sophomore Hailey Fris rounded out the qualifiers for Illinois State with a time of 2:03.85.
In the 100 Y Free, four Redbirds advanced to the final with Senior Mia Snow pacing the Redbirds with a time of 50.46. Senior Ella Turken finished with a mark of 51.32 to advance, as Senior Adi Luker (51.63) and Sophomore Alexanda Davis (51.69) qualified for the finals with season-best marks.
Freshman Ava Ostendorf was the lone qualifier for the Redbirds in the 200 Y Breast with a mark of 2:20.31.
FINALS
In the 1650 Y Free, Sophomore Hope Westphal tallied a time of 17:50.95, as Senior Maya Burkstrand notched a mark of 17:56.92.
Tyler recorded a mark of 2:03.21 to earn All-MVC honors in the A-Final with an eighth-place finish. Murphy improved on her top-10 mark with a time of 2:02.67, as Boulden notched a time of 2:04.43 and Gott tallied a mark of 2:04.54 to round out the B-Final. Fris recorded a time of 2:02.99 to capture the fastest time in the C-Final.
Snow earned an additional All-MVC Honorable Mention honor after finishing eighth in the 100 Y Free final with a time of 50.77. Turken earned a time of 50.89 in the B-Final, as Davis with a mark of 51.47 and Luker with a time of 51.71 rounded out the Redbird finishes in the C-Final.
In the 200 Y Breast, Ostendorf claimed the event win in the B-Final with a mark of 2:19.13.
DIVING
From the diving boards, Sophomore Emma Thompson qualified for the B-Final in the 3-Meter dive with a score of 210.60. Freshman Bayley Fowler narrowly missed the final with a score of 189.15 in her debut at the conference title meet. In the B-Final, Thompson claimed the win with a score of 247.85
