AIKEN, S.C. – A strong and improved second round has propelled the Redbirds up the standings, and are in 11th place overall, with two additional schools are within two strokes of ISU with one round to play.
Tulsa and Denver have climbed into a tie atop the team standings with a two-round 602. First round leader Columbia is a stroke behind with a 603 while Augusta (615), Richmond (618), Southern Miss (622), Radford (628), Morehead State (629), Fairleigh Dickinson (641), Oakland (642), Illinois State (643), and Alabama State (668) round out the dozen schools in the tournament.
Alex Sparrow improved her score from the first round, and behind her second round 77 she climbed 12 spots into a tie for 19th with 18 holes to play. Sparrow had two birdies and 11 pars in her second round of the three-day event.
Elise Fennell had two birdies and nine pars for a nine-over 82, which has her tied for 44th through 36 holes, with Dani Grace Schrock carding a two-over 75 in the second round, climbing 11 spots in the individual standings as she had four birdies and nine pars in her second round and is tied for 48th with one round left in the tournament.
A pair of Reagan's – Kennedy and Braker – rounded out ISU's five over the first two rounds, as Reagan Kennedy had a birdie and 10 pars for an eight-over 81, while Reagan Kennedy had a dozen pars for her seven-over 80. Kennedy is tied for 51st, while Braker is tied for 57th.
ISU, along with Alabama State and Oakland tee off starting at 9:30 on Tuesday morning for the third and final round of the event.
