SILVIS, Ill. – The Illinois State women's golf team battled on Tuesday afternoon and climbed two spots on the final day, finishing eighth at the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference Championships. The Redbirds were led over the three rounds by Elise Fennell, who earned All-MVC First Team honors for her play during the season and at the Championship.
Murray State and Bradley duked it out for the 2026 Championship, with Murray State pulling ahead 923-to-924, recovering from a 12-stroke deficit at the beginning of the day to advance to an NCAA Regional. Belmont (939) finished third, while Drake (944), UIC (950), and Evansville (956) finished just ahead of the Redbirds' 959. Southern Illinois (959) tied with Illinois State, while Indiana State (961), Northern Iowa (983), and Valparaiso (1,027) rounded out the 11 schools in the field.
Reagan Kennedy closed her season with a birdie on her 18th hole – one of three for the junior during the round – as she added 10 pars to finish with a four-over 76. Behind her three-round 238 she tied for 21st in the tournament field.
Fennell closed play with an eight-over 80 in the championship, using two birdies and nine pars, and through her 54-hole score of 235 she tied for t-14th in the tournament field.
Dani Grace Schrock closed her outstanding college career by a six-over 78 on Tuesday, using a birdie and 11 pars for her round, as she placed in a tie for 37th overall at the Championship.
Alex Sparrow had a pair of birdies and six pars, as she closed her season with an eight-over par 80 in the final round of the Championship, and her final round puts her in a tie of 30th place.
Playing in her first MVC Championship, Reagan Braker finished with a 10-over 82 in the final round with 10 pars and finished in a tie for 46th.
