NORMAL, Ill. — Illinois State softball couldn't salvage the series finale against Murray State on Sunday, falling to the Racers, 6-1, at Marian Kneer Stadium.
The Redbirds totaled six hits and left seven on base in their sixth-straight loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Murray State opened the scoring in the top of the second on an RBI double to right center.
In the fourth, the Racers hit three straight doubles to take a 4-0 lead. The Redbirds plated their lone run of the day in the bottom half of the inning, as Morgan Calhoun hit a leadoff double and later scored on an RBI sacrifice fly from Ella Boyer.
The Racers tacked on two more runs across the sixth and seventh innings to jump ahead by five and claim the 6-1 win.

The Redbirds close the regular season with a three-game series against Bradley next weekend at Petersen Hotels Field in Peoria, Ill.
