MADISON, Wis. – Illinois State track and field finished up the Badger Challenge on Friday with five event winners and three moves in the program's top-10 list.
Cole Stevens improved his eighth-place mark in school history in the hammer throw with a launch of 61.27m. Becca Heitzig moved into 10th-all time in program history in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:32.87. Nora Brady took over ninth in school history in the 5000m run with a time of 16:49.18.
The Redbirds' first event winner was Brody Rigdon, who took gold in the long jump with a mark of 7.07m. He led the trio that swept the top three spots in the event, as Rex Hallam earned runner up with a leap of 7.05m, and Victor Byaundaombe claimed bronze with a mark of 6.92m.
Jamarion Bardwell won the high jump with a mark of 2.06m.
Aidan Wyzard came out on top in the 100m dash with a time of 10.72. He also earned bronze in the 200m with a time of 21.87.
Megan Clark won the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.61m, while Byaundaombe won the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.65m.
The Redbirds also had several other athletes finish in the top five.
Two of those top-five finishers came in the men's shot put, as Jo Atkins took third with a throw of 17.45m, and Jacob Klink earned fifth with a mark of 17.17m.
Abby Milott took third in the long jump with a mark of 5.63m.
Ava Lawless earned runner-up in the triple jump with a wind-aided mark of 11.53m.
Mattison Plummer took runner up in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:13.21. Astrid Van Breedam rounded out the top five with a time of 10:37.55.
Closing out the day was Julian Baker, who earned fourth in the 1500m with a time of 3:44.03.
