NORMAL, Ill. – A 10-tournament schedule is ahead for the Redbird women's golf team, as the squad competes in eight different states, with all the tournaments leading up to the 2027 Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Silvis, Illinois.
The season opens on Sunday, September 13 for the two-day, 54-hole Redbird Invitational, the 17th consecutive season that Weibring Golf Course has hosted the season-opening event.
For the first time since the fall of 2004, Illinois State will travel to East Lansing, Michigan, to compete in the Mary Fossum Invitational. The event – in which the Redbirds will make their fifth total appearance – is on September 20 and 21.
The Coyote Creek Classic opens October for ISU, as the Redbirds face off against the field in the Bradley-hosted tournament on October 4-5.
The following weekend the Birds travel to Jonesboro, Arkansas, to compete in the Lady Red Wolves Classic, hosted by Arkansas State, in ISU's second consecutive season playing in the fall event.
The fall season is capped from November 2-4 when the team travels to Birmingham, Alabama, to take part in the Samford Intercollegiate – ISU's first time competing in the event.
The pre-MVC portion of the spring season has ISU competing in a trio of new events, starting with the Battle at Bentwater, hosted by Sam Houston State on February 1-2 in Montgomery, Texas.
For the 14th time in program history, the Redbirds will compete in the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan on February 19-21.
Two additional new tournaments follow in the month of March, as ISU will travel to San Antonio for the UTSA Alamo on March 9-10, and then on March 22-23 the team will head back south to Nashville, Tennessee, for the Nashville Invitational hosted by Lipscomb.
ISU will close out the pre-MVC portion of the schedule, when the squad will make the short trek to West Lafayette, Indiana, to compete in the Boilermaker Spring Classic for the third consecutive spring season on April 11-12.
The MVC Championship – hosted at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, is on April 18-20.
