Ten members of the Illinois State track and field team were named to the 2000 Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team, Thursday.
Representing the Redbird women were seniors Lisa Simon and Melissa Wheeler, junior Carrie Wojcik, sophomore Stacia Beste and freshmen Hildegunn Holten and Alia Hoyle.
On the mens side were junior Peter Madsen, sophomores Christian Goy and Mark Walcott and freshman Pierre Woods.
To qualify for the conference honor the athletes had to place in the top six at either at the indoor or outdoor league championships, while maintaining a 3.00 GPA or higher.
